Roma & Natalia - Travelers. Photographers. Storytellers.
We quit our jobs and sold everything. We are looking for our own path.

Dinard and Saint Malo

We left the Loire Valley and headed North to explore Brittany’s coast. Brittany was previously a kingdom and then as a duchy it was a fiefdom of France. With its own Bretton language and celtic heritage, Brittany is a unique area to explore.

DINARD – Visiting Dinard ‘in season’ is a little like stepping into one of the canvases Picasso painted here in the 1920s. Belle-époque mansions built into the cliffs form a timeless backdrop to the beach dotted with blue-and-white striped bathing tents, a casino, and small restaurants serving mussels.

SAINT MALO – Saint-Malo is a walled port city across the channel from Dinard. Saint-Malo was notorious as the home of the corsairs, French privateers and sometimes pirates. Jacques Cartier, who sailed the Saint Lawrence River and visited the sites of Quebec City and Montreal — considered the discoverer of Canada, lived in and sailed from Saint-Malo.
